No, there are no setup fees.
A public server does not have to be password protected. You are not required to have a password on the server at all times. You can, however, put a password and take the password off of the server at any time. A private server must be password protected at all times. This means that only players that know the password can join the server. Private servers are used mainly for competition matches or scrims.
We currently have servers located in Dallas, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Seattle, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London. Test your ping to these locations from the servers listed on the right side of your screen. We are expanding rapidly and if we do not have servers located close to where you live, we will shortly.
You will have full access to your server with a powerful Web Based Tool called CS Admin and any FTP program you wish to use.
Most of the popular mods we have in our mods section you can install yourself with the click of a button inside your control panel. If the mod is not available in the control panel preconfigured for you to install, simply open a support ticket and one of our experienced support specialists can install the mod for you or help you install it.
If you would like to have your server in a different location, open up a Support Ticket and your server will be moved. Your server ip address will change, but your server configurations will stay the same. There is no fee assocated with this.
HLStats (For Counter-Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero) and HLStatsX (For Counter-Strike Source, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, DOD:Source, and more) are web based stats and are different from in-game stats, which some mods provide. HLStats are maintained on our website.
General
There are thousands of servers listed in the Steam list and sometimes it doesn't list them all when doing a search. The most common mistake is not setting the correct Region filter. When searching for servers click on "Filter" and select the region that your server is located in. The region setting is a setting within your server.cfg file (sv_region). If you select the correct region, then you should be able to easily find your server listed. Possible values for the sv_region variable are below. The most common variable for this is "1." If you want your server to be located in a different region, simply change the variable in your server.cfg file and restart your server. Searching in the Steam list with that region Filter should now being up your server.
You'll need to log out of Steam and back in. This is different from closing Steam and reopening Steam. Make sure you know your steam username on your account and your password.
1) Right click on your Steam Icon at the bottom right of the taskbar.
2) Click on "Settings."
3) Click "Log in as different user..."
4) You'll be logged out and you'll need to sign back in with your username and password.
We are unable to provide support for third party programs. Please search the forums on their website or their faq's section for help with the program. The below link is a good place to start. HLSW has a known issue that says "can not view logs" when trying to retrieve "get logs" from HLSW. This is an issue with the program and not your server provided by us.

This does not have to do with the server that you purchased from us. Please seek support for your video card or the game files on your computer might be corrupt. A common solution to these problems is reinstalling your video card drivers or your game.
If you would like to have your server in a different location, open up a Support Ticket and your server will be moved. Your server ip address will change, but your server configurations will stay the same. There is no fee assocated with this.
Open a ticket in your control panel. Your billing will be changed to reflect how many players slots you now have.
You don't need to backup core files (like srcds.exe, etc) which have no configuration changes. You only need to backup files you have configured. Simply download those files by clicking on them in the file manager utility within your control panel. You can save them on your home computer as a backup. If you wish to download many files at once, check the box to the left of the filename and then click the "zip files" at the top of the file list. You may also download files to your computer quickly via ftp.
To cancel your account, you must login to your control panel and open a support ticket requesting cancellation. This is the only way we can identify you as the account owner. Also, it allows us to identify what services belong to you. E-mail is not an accepted method of cancellation, as their is no way to validate that the e-mail came from the account owner.

To use ftp:
1) From the beginning screen in your control panel click on "Game Servers"
2) If you have multiple game servers, click on a server IP address.
3) In the box you will see an ip address next to "FTP." Example:
207.168.11.12:21
You can simply click on that ip address or hostname and your default browser should open your ftp client or you can continue on.
4) Open Internet Explorer or another browser and type in the following assuming your ip address is the one above
ftp://207.168.11.12:21
5) A prompt will ask you for a username and password once or twice. Enter the same username and password you use for your control panel
6) You'll now have ftp access to your server files.
You can, of course, always use your own ftp program, but this is easier.
If you are uploading maps, simply navigate to your "maps" folder and upload maps there.
If you are unable to access FTP please open a support ticket that includes your ftp username and password. If support is able to log into your server through ftp, then the problem is with the browser that you are currently using. You'll need to clear your cookies, cache, temporary internet files, check your security permissions, and possibly reboot your computer. If that does not work, then you'll need to use another browser such as Mozilla/Firefox instead of what you are currently using (example: Internet Explorer). We do not support third party browsers such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla/Firefox and we do not support third party ftp programs such as SmartFTP. You will need to contact those separate companies for support on why you are unable to use ftp correctly.
Another way to access ftp through Windows:
1. Go to the folder "My Network Places".
2. On the right panel, click "Add a Network Place".
3. On the second step, click the 2nd option "Choose Another Network Location".
4. On the third step, put in the ip or url, examples "208.100.20.241" or "ftp://ftp.blah.com".
5. On the fourth step, uncheck the box "Log on Anonymously", put your login name in.
6. Last, it will ask you what you would like it to be named, that is up to you.
NOTE: when you double click the icon it makes, it will ask for the password.

First you need to log into your control panel.
1) Once logged in click on "Support Tickets."
2) Click on "New Ticket."
3) Fill out the information and submit the ticket. You can view and update tickets in the same location.
First, Log into your control panel and follow the instructions below:
1) Click on "Subusers."
2) Click on "New User."
3) Type in a "User ID" for them and fill in their "Password." This will be what they use to log into the control panel.
4) Click "Save."
5) Now you need to give them permissions. Click on "Permissions."
6) Select the game server in the drop down box you want to give them permission to control and click "View."
7) Select the features you'd like to give the user access to and click "Save".
You will need to follow the instructions below.
1)Log into your control panel
2)Click on "Game Servers"
3)If you have multiple game servers, click on a server IP address.
4)Click on the "Reinstall" button
5)Fill in the required information. Your server name and a rcon password
6)Click "Continue".
-Your server will be set back to defaults in a matter of minutes.
HLStats / HLStats X
You can not change your rcon password or HLStats will stop working. Please change your rcon password back to what it was when you first received your account.

You will need to log into your HLStatsX control panel and under your "Ingame" options, check "Broadcast Playevents" and "Ingame Statistic Query" and select the correct Mani Mod options in the drop down menus.
You'll first need to log into your HLStatsX control panel
1) You'll need to find the variable "Minimum Players Position" and change it to 0.
2) Now restart your HLStatsX.
You must enable advanced weapon logging to get accuracy values displayed. This can be either achieved with mani v1.2 or the small-statsme-plugin. We would recommended mani v1.2. You can easily activate the weapon logging within the mani_server.cfg with the option mani_external_stats_log.
